Toast, the new rooftop bar in Andheri East could be your new watering hole! Located on the 8th floor of Hotel T24 a boutique hotel, the Toast offers views of the mostly commercial belt and the artsy T2 terminal. I visited Toast for a relaxed Saturday lunch after having visited them for sundowner cocktails a few days back.
The feel of the place is very relaxed and contemporary with a lot of colours, quirky pieces of art and a lot of fun one-liner slates adorning the walls. I repeated their High on Chai cocktail once again; a creamy concoction of masala chai, white & dark rum with dairy whitener followed by a Macho Man a straight-up drink with Bourbon and Orgeat. It was paired with commonplace Arancini Ballls, fresh mozzarella and tomato crostini and a melt in the mouth Rajma ki Gilawat.
More cocktails, the Gin and Jam looked lackluster in presentation however was very balanced in taste as the Gordon’s lingered on. The Candy Crush, in lines of a zesty, sweet and sour Cosmopolitan was delightful with the pop rocks rim. For mains we tried the Classic Spaghetti Aglio olio and a beetroot and goat cheese risotto however what shined amongst the mains was the Hyderabadi mix vegetable served with Dal, rice and roti. We ended our meal with a smoked Tennessee cocktail, a smoked Jalapeno and tequila mix and I loved delicate smoke in the cocktails.
We left the place but not before devouring their Cardamom Crème Brulee, it was ethereal however we found it more of baked yogurt than the classic, nonetheless it was worth the calories. In our opinion, great place for sundowner drinks, post work huddles or night caps under the stars especially in this Mumbai weather and the drinks are priced reasonably and the cocktail are fun. On the food front their Indian section is super, their Italian is good however if only their pricing would have been less adhoc and at least 20% cheaper!
